THE PUMA:

-Small broad head with dark, large, round eyes and rounded ears

-Tawney colored fur and white on the chin and throat

-Long hind legs allow puma to jump over 40 feet

-Black-tipped tail which measures 50-80 cm long for balance

-Males weigh 1.4 times more than the females

-Has different names: puma, cougar, panther, mountain lion, night screamer, and catamount

-Live in mountainous forests, swamps, grasslands, and desert

-Hunts alone, day and night

-Eats deer, sheep, rodents, hare, and livestock
